Frequently asked questions
Straight answers on outsourced CSR, ESG, Climate Fresk, pricing, safeguarding and measurement. Anything else — WhatsApp us.
What does 'outsourced CSR' actually mean?
Instead of hiring an in-house CSR team, you engage EcoVita as your CSR department. We write the strategy, source and vet partners, run the projects and produce the reports — usually on a retainer that costs less than one senior hire. You keep board-level ownership; we carry the workload.
Who is this kind of support for?
Organisations of any size that want credible CSR, ESG or wellness activity without building an internal department: corporates and multinationals, SMEs facing their first ESG questions, NGOs needing a Kenyan delivery partner, and schools or community groups needing facilitation.
How does pricing work?
Every engagement is scoped after a free discovery call. Retainers, fixed-scope projects and per-activity pricing all exist — we will tell you honestly which fits your situation. Send us a proposal request and we respond within one working day.
How long do programmes take?
A Climate Fresk workshop is a single half-day. A tree-planting day takes four to six weeks to organise properly. An ESG baseline typically runs four to eight weeks. Outsourced CSR retainers are annual.
What is a Climate Fresk workshop and what size group does it suit?
Climate Fresk is a collaborative, science-based workshop in which a group reconstructs the causes and effects of climate change from 42 cards — built on IPCC reports. One facilitator runs a table of 4 to 14 people; larger groups run parallel tables.
Can workshops run online?
Yes. Climate Fresk has an official digital version, and most of our education and debrief sessions work well online. Field programmes — planting days, clean-ups — are in person by nature.
How is impact measured?
Indicators are agreed at design stage, not after delivery: attendance, outputs (seedlings planted, waste collected, sessions delivered) and outcomes (survival checks, feedback, follow-through). Every engagement ends with a written report containing the figures and how they were measured.
Which standards do your reports follow?
Reports are aligned with GRI reporting principles and mapped to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Where ISO 26000 is relevant we work to it as guidance — it is a guidance standard, not a certification, and we will never describe it otherwise.
How is tree planting tracked?
Species lists, site records and photographs are kept for every planting. Aftercare — a named custodian, watering and protection — is agreed before planting, and we carry out a survival check at around ninety days and report the number honestly.
What safeguarding applies to work with schools and children?
Written consent from the school or guardians before any activity, agreed rules on photography, and conduct procedures for our staff and facilitators. Children's full names are never published.
Can wellness and CSR be combined in one programme?
Yes — and it often works well. A team wellness morning can end at a community project site; a planting day can include a wellness activity. Combining them spreads budget across two goals with one logistics effort.
Where do you work?
We are based in Nairobi and deliver across Kenya — recent work has taken us to Naivasha, Nakuru and Nairobi County. Tell us where your team or community is and we will confirm logistics.
