Community Clean-Up and Waste-Sorting Pilot

A clean-up day that left something behind: a sorting point and a collector agreement, not just filled sacks.

The sponsor asked for a clean-up day; the community partner asked for something that would still matter in a month. We delivered both: a morning of collection followed by the installation of a sorting point run by a local youth group under a collector agreement.

Waste was weighed and sorted by category on the day, giving the community its first baseline figures. The youth group's sorting operation continued after the event.

The sponsor's report covered kilograms collected, materials diverted and the agreement that keeps the point running.

Outcomes

  • 380 kg of waste collected and sorted by category
  • Sorting point established with a youth-group operator
  • Collector agreement signed before the event closed
